toongoals

Another plug for toongoals. This time to say it has had a re-vamp, and is in the form of a blog.

This site has links to videos of Newcastle United goals, highlights, compilations, interviews and full matches. (You will need the bit torrent program for the larger files).

The filth of McDonald's

General Mayhem
Any site that slags off McDonald's is good in my book. Here's some photographs from someone who used to work there.

Also, why not visit McSpotlight?
"McDonald's spends over $2 billion a year broadcasting their glossy image to the world. This is a small space for alternatives to be heard."

I'm worth £5,000,000*

Sportdaq is one of the easiest games to play. Sportsman's values go up (and down) according to how much they appear in the papers.

* Pretendy money only unfortunately.

Mars is getting closer.

rednova.com
By the time you finish reading this sentence, you'll be 25 miles closer to the planet Mars. (Relative speed: 23,500 mph.)

"You can see Mars early in the morning, rising before the sun in the eastern sky, shining almost twice as bright as a 1st-magnitude star".

Clicking here gives a 500kb close up of Mars.

(Thanks Laura)

The Ashes

England (407 & 182) lead Australia (308 & 175-8) by 106 runs

I can't let the cricket of yesterday pass by without mentioning that Freddie Flintoff's display was reminiscient of Botham's efforts at Headingley in 1981.

Botham's batting not only saved England from an innings defeat (read this report), but his bowling helped England to victory the following day (read this report).

BBC match report

For those that don't know he did a similar thing in the next tests at Old Trafford and Edgbaston!

Google Earth

earth.google.com

This is a great piece of software (10MB) - you need broadband to use it though.
"Google Earth combines satellite imagery, maps and the power of Google Search to put the world's geographic information at your fingertips".

Or for non-broadband users - try Google Moon (http://moon.google.com/) for proof that man DID land on the moon!
